Gameplay Rules
- Account Limits
- You’re allowed two (2) accounts on UO Tides of Power. Account sharing is not permitted. You are 100% responsible for all actions taken by your account.
- Connection Cap
- Only two connections per IP address at any time.
- Families and roommates can play Tides of Power together, but will need to reach out to the Admins for extra account and connection approvals.
- Unattended Macroing Is Allowed
- AFK Shopping and Banking? Nope!
- No unattended buying, selling, or recurring banking loops.
- No AFK Resource Gathering
- AFK resource farming is a no-go. This includes mining, lumberjacking, treasure hunting, shearing sheep, cotton picking, flax picking, fishing, escorting NPCs, or creating of or gathering any other limited resources. For example, mining while AFK and leaving the ore on the ground is illegal.
- Exceptions: Fishing is permitted while AFK if you are on a shoreline (in town or in the wilderness), or on a town dock or bridge. The Water Walk is not included in this exception. You can fish on a boat if it’s at a dock in town.
- Boat Blockades
- Boats that are placed to intentionally restrict access to shorelines or game content may be moved at a GM’s discretion.
- Information Automation
- Using tracking skill or ghosts to monitor and relay information while AFK is prohibited.
- Keep Your Names Classy
- Offensive or obscene names will be changed by staff discretion. Be creative, not crude.
- No Shard-to-Shard or Cash-Trades
- Buying, selling, or trading Tides of Power accounts, items, or gold, is strictly prohibited.
- Gamemasters Do Not Play.
- Any person with privileged access (Counselor, Gamemaster, Developers, Administrators) do not have player accounts and are not permitted to play the game outside of organized and approved events.
- Harassment Policy:
- Our community is built around fair play, creative freedom, and mutual respect. While some in-game actions may feel frustrating, it’s important to distinguish between game mechanics and actual harassment.
- What is not considered harassment?
- Certain in-game behaviors, though annoying, are part of the intended gameplay experience. These include:
- Player killing (PKing)
- Stealing or looting
- Stalking or repeated targeting
- Town killing (including AFK hunting)
These actions are allowed within the rules of the game. If you’re struggling with these mechanics, we encourage you to explore in-game strategies for protecting yourself from other players.
- What is Harassment?
- Harassment refers to behavior that crosses the line into real-world hostility or targeted abuse, including:
- Using hate speech, racial slurs, or discriminatory language in-game or on Discord
- Tagging or messaging players on Discord with slurs or personal attacks when they are not actively engaged in conversation
- Repeated out-of-game targeting intended to intimidate, shame, or provoke
This type of behavior is not tolerated.
- Standard Enforcement
- First offense: We will speak with the player and issue a warning.
- Repeated offenses: The player may be muted (squelched) in-game or in Discord, preventing them from speaking entirely.
- Severe cases: May result in temporary or permanent bans from the game or Discord.
- We reserve the right to take action based on the severity and context of each case.
Community Rules
- Respect is Non-Negotiable
- Harassment, witch hunting, sexism, racism, or hate speech? There are plenty of places on the Internet where you can find this type of content. Don’t bring it here.
- Keep It Clean
- No NSFW or inappropriate content. That means no overly sexual, violent, or disturbing text, images, or links. Please remember that this is a gaming community of varying ages and backgrounds.
- Emotions Happen, But Keep It Civil
- It’s okay to get frustrated, but keep personal attacks to a minimum. We all get heated, but remember: take a breather, don’t cross the line.
- No Shameless Self-Promotion
- No spam, server invites, or advertisements without staff approval. This includes DMing other members with unsolicited promotions.
- Respect the Staff
- Our staff are volunteers who share your passion for Ultima games. Don’t make their job harder. Or, as we like to say: “No BS.”
- Impersonating staff is grounds for an immediate ban.
