Aetherglass
Aetherglass
In his hopes to find a way to destroy all of mankind, the researchers at the Dark Arts Academy created Aetherglass, a reliable way of creating substantially deadly weapons, stronger magical spells (against NPCs), and even grant greater protection from your enemies (NPCs).
TLDR & OOC: Aetherglass is a new system of crafting magical weapons, spellbooks, and bracers infused with slayer properties. You turn junk magic weapon and armor into Aetherglass bars. You can use these bars to craft a mid-tier Slayer weapon (for example: “an exceptional substantial katana of orc slaying”), slayer spellbooks (not newbie or blessed), or a new slayer protection item (take less damage from specific monster types)
Aetherglass is a new crafting component created as a byproduct of deconstructing magical weapons and armor. We’ll share the formulas on the wiki.
Aetherglass Welder NPC
The Welder NPC has all of the new toys you need to get started in the Aetherglass hobby. He is at the bank in Wind. There is also an aetherglass smith at the Lord’s Arm, in the Castle at Britain.
Aetherglass System Items
- Aetherglass Ingots – gained from breaking down magic equipment.
- Arcanist’s Cabinet – A cabinet that turns junk into aetherglass.
- Recipe for Aetherglass – Recipes for each crafting slayers.
- Scholar’s Writing Table – Scribes can turn Aetherglass into slayer spellbooks.
- Arcane Anvil – Blacksmiths can turn Aetherglass into slayer weapons.
- Aetherglass Kiln – Tinkers can turn Aetherglass into defensive slayer bracers (bracelet slot).
How to create Aetherglass
Any character can use an Arcanist’s Cabinet. It has unlimited uses. The Arcanist’s cabinet converts unwanted magic weapons and armor into Aetherglass ingots. Add your magical items to the cabinet and it will display a preview of the total value of Aetherglass. Click Transmute to destroy the items and convert them into Aetherglass ingots.

Learning and Using Aetherglass Recipes
Monsters in the Dark Arts Academy have a 0.5% to 5% chance of dropping recipes. Boss monsters have a 50%+ chance of dropping recipes. Double‑clicking a recipe consumes the scroll and teaches it permanently to your character.

Crafting with Aetherglass Ingots
Crafting Aetherglass items has a flat 90% success chance. Failing may result in material loss. There are three workstations:
- Arcane Anvil – Select and create slayer weapons using standard crafting equipment and supplies, along with Aetherglass ingots. Works for blacksmithing, bowfletching, carpentry, and tinkering weapons. The anvil has unlimited uses.
- Aetherglass Kiln – Requires Grandmaster Tinkering. Create “Super Slayer” aura bracers (bracelet) from Aetherglass ingots. The kiln has unlimited uses.
- Scholar’s Table – Requires Grandmaster Inscription to use. Create slayer spellbooks from blank scrolls and Aetherglass ingots. The writing table has unlimited uses. Slayer spellbooks are standard items. They are not blessed or newbied.
