Boss Encounters

There are multiple boss encounters available for players. You’ll find a Gargoyle Totem (see below) at various locations. Double click the totem to see which boss spawns in the region and how far along the progress is.

Known Boss Spawns

Boss monsters range in difficulty but are always considered a challenge. When a boss monster spawns, a global broadcast occurs giving you a hint as to where it may be.

  • Captain Lawrence: The Captain’s ship has arrived at the Gate.
  • Death Knight: An horrible beast is terrorizing the countryside.
  • Dracolich: An eerie sound echoes through the tomb.
  • Leviathan: A deep rumbling echoes from the abyss as the leviathan emerges.
  • Lumber Lord: Branches rattled in the distance, disturbed by something unseen.
  • Nessy: A mythological beast has surfaced in the lake!
  • Tarrasque: A powerful creature has spawned in a cave.
  • Jor Tox: Cower in fear! JorTox the Conqueror has returned.
  • Ethereal Tortoise: “A hideous creature is lurking in the forgotten castle’s lake.”

Gargoyle Totems

Each boss spawn has a Gargoyle Totem that goes through a few stages. Killing monsters advances the meter. Monsters with higher hit points increase the meter faster than weaker monsters. Only monsters that spawn AND die in the boss region will move the meter.

Double click on the Gargoyle Totem to view the status of the boss spawn.

Spawning the Boss

When it reaches the final stage, the Boss will spawn.

Boss Rewards

Boss monsters will drop several gold piles, magical weapons, ancient doubloons, and have a chance to drop level 6 treasure maps and Aetherglass recipes. You can also unlock new Titles from slaying enough bosses.
