Capture the Flag (CTF)

Capture the Flag (CTF) is a mini-game that is played on a scheduled, recurring basis. The schedule will be available in-game via a GUMP when the game is officially released. For now, pay attention to events in Discord to find out when the next round is.

How to Sign Up for Capture the Flag

When CTF has been announced, a red moongate will appear at the city banks (West Britain, West Trinsic, Skara Brae, Yew, and New Magincia).  Find a gate and enter it. When you enter the CTF gate, you’ll appear in a lobby with the other participants. Double-click the Join stone and select your team.

Starting a Game of CTF

When the game of CTF begins, players will be sent to the CTF map, to your team’s home base.  You’ll find a supply stone in the base which gives you gear based on your character skills. You will also find items spawning on the ground to accommodate additional needs. Your team’s flag spawns near the middle of your team’s home.

PvP in CTF

As you can imagine, CTF is open PVP. When you die in CTF, you respawn a few seconds later, back at your team’s home base.  There is no fame or karma loss, or murder counts given out for PVP during CTF.

How to Take a Flag

Flags are either in someone’s backpack or on the ground.  If the flag is on a person, you’ll need to kill that person before you can take the flag. When they die, the flag falls to the ground.  When the flag is on the ground, double-click it. If it is your team’s flag, it will return to your base. If it’s the opponent’s flag, it will go into your backpack.

Your avatar will turn ice-fiend blue to notify other players that you are a flag holder.

When you are a flag holder, it’ll show up in your backpack.

How to Pass the Flag

You can double-click the flag while it’s in your backpack and target a teammate. This will pass the flag to your teammate.

How to Capture the Flag

In order to capture the flag, you need your team’s flag in your base. Bring the opponent’s flag back to your flag. Double-click the opponent’s flag and target your team’s flag.  Your team will get a point and the opponent’s flag will return to their base.

How to Win Capture the Flag

The game ends when the timer (usually 15 minutes) runs out or when a team reaches the max score set for the gain.
