Criminal Flag

When a player commits a criminal act, they become criminally flagged.

While flagged, a player can be openly attacked by other players. The criminal cannot report their assailants for murder. Common reasons to become a criminal include:

• Attacking an innocent (blue) player or NPC.
• Looting a blue (NPC or PC) corpse.
• Using the stealing skill on an item in a player or NPC’s backpack.

Don’t confuse the criminal flag with simply being grey.  There are times when you’ll be grey, without being a criminal. For example, if you enter a private home, you’ll be grey and openly attackable to the homeowner, co-owners, and house friends.
