Housing
Housing
You can place classic-style Ultima homes and UO Renaissance houses. A player may own 1 house per account. Each player may have 2 accounts in total, so no player may own more than 2 houses.
Storing Items & House Decor
Items inside houses do not decay, allowing you to decorate homes to your liking. However, if they are not locked down or stored in secure containers, anyone with access to the house can take them. A secure container can hold 125 items and up to 400 stones. Locked down containers can hold 125 items and unlimited stones.
You may use house add-on deeds to upgrade your home with new features or decorations. Player can craft add-ons.
- How to use a House add-on deed: Double click on a house add-on deed and select a valid house tile.
- How to remove house add-ons: Equip an axe and use it on the house add-on. You will receive a deed for the add-on in your backpack.
House Upgrades
You can upgrade your home’s max storage, friend’s list and ban lists using Ancient Doubloons.
House Security
Securing your home properly is the key to keeping your items safe from house looters. Keeping your front door locked is the baseline level of security.
It is recommended to have a house key in a secured container near the door. On the other side of the door, interior design that blocks access to where you store your non-secured valuables. Commonly handled with a “table wall” or by using few house add-ons.
Detect Hidden in Housing
Using detect hidden while in your home, or a home you’re friended to will reveal all hidden players within the house. You do not need detect hidden skill to succeed.
What can people use or take from your house?
Players can interact with certain items, even if they are not friended, a co-owner, or owner. For example:
- Use keyrings within reach.
- Use potion kegs within reach.
- Use charges on any house add-ons within reach.
- Take any items off the ground if the item is not locked down.
- Take any items from a non-secured container. A locked down container is not secure.
Secured containers are 100% inaccessible to non-friended players and can be kept in public spaces.
Castle Owners
Castle owners have an extra option on their house sign for managing their courtyard. Players can pay 500,000 gold to remove all characters (logged out and logged in) from their courtyards and reset runes to the ban location. This makes it easier to buy and sell houses without fear of the former owner having access.
Managing Access & Homeowner Command
When you place a house on Tides of Power, all of the characters on your account are considered homeowners. You can add friends and co-owners, and ban people from your home. A home may have up to 15 co-owners, 100 friends, and 100 banned foes.

House Decay
