Pet Bonding
Pet Bonding
Tamers can bond with their pets, allowing them to train their pets better, and resurrect their pets should they die, and bonded pets will recall with you.
Bonding Requirements
You must have the minimum taming skill to bond with a pet, except if the animal requires less than 28 taming skill.
To bond with a pet, you must be it’s master for a full week and feed it at least once. You will receive a success message confirming it has bonded. The (tame) tag above the pet’s name will change to the label (bonded).
The bonding process begins as soon as you tame a pet. Every minute that passes earns you one “bonding point” with the animal. By default, it takes a week (10800 bonding points) to bond with your pet. You can speed up the bonding process through active gameplay:
Be within range of your pet when it deals damage.
Be within range of your pet when they gain skills.
Riding mountable pets.
Once you’ve reached 10,800 bonding points, feed your animal once to complete the bonding process.
What happens if I lose track of my bonded pet?
You can purchase a pet summoning ball from the veterinarian NPC for 30K gold. These have 3 charges and will summon your bonded pet to your location. Your pet does arrive dead when you summon it, so keep that in mind. The stablemaster in Skara Brae and the veterinarian shop in Britain both have Pet Conjurers, just in case you lose a bonded pet whom is not linked to a summoning ball.
What happens when a bonded pet dies?
When a bonded pet dies, a player with veterinary skill can resurrect a deceased pet. The pet’s owner must be nearby and will receive a confirmation gump before the resurrection completes. The pet suffers a 2% skill loss reduction upon resurrection. The NPC veterinarian can resurrect a dead pet if you bring the pet ghost to them.
